Heat Pump Troubleshooting:
Simple Solutions for Common Issues
Heat Pump is Not Heating Up
- Check if the power cord is plugged into the GPO outlet.
- Ensure all switches are turned on at the isolator or power point.
- Check the circuit breaker or safety switch in the meter box.
- Unlock the display by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds. The shower head icon will illuminate, and the machine will start.
- If the system is in an OFF-timing mode, wait for the timer to activate.
- You may need to reschedule your start and stop times or deactivate the week mode if ‘W’ is displayed. (See operations manual for details)

- If the fan and condenser icons are absent, The Machine may have reached its set temperature. Check what tanks set temperature is set too. Refer to Setting tank temperature of the manual.
- Increase the tanks set temperature.
- The Heating mode may be set to ELE; Element mode only uses electrical element only. Press M button to cycle to a heat pump mode.
Heat Pump Water Temperature is Low
- The heat pump may not have power activated; refer to the previous questions.
- Tank set temperature is set to low.
- Hot water may have been drawn from the tank. It can take up to 4 hours to reheat a large volume of water. The shower head, fan and condenser icons will be illuminated on the display.
- Check if the PTR drain is running constantly. If so, a pressure limiting device may not be installed. Contact your plumber to ensure it is installed or if the PTR valve needs replacing.
- The shower head, fan and condenser icons are displayed on the screen, and the fan is blowing air. The machine may have a refrigerant leak. Action: Call service at 1300 062 788.
Not Enough Hot Water
- Long shower times or high volumes of hot water usage may be the cause.
- Tank set temperature is set to low.
- Consider setting the heat pump to Hybrid (HYB) mode. In HYB mode, the tank can be set to 70 degrees.
- Check heating period time settings, Machine may not have power supplied long enough to heat up the water.
- Check if the PTR drain is running constantly. If so, a pressure limiting device may not be installed. Contact your plumber to ensure it is installed or if the PTR valve needs replacing.
- A second machine is advised. The house hold is consuming too much hot water for just 1x single machine.
WiFi is Not Connecting
- Ensure your WiFi runs on a 2.4GHz band. You may need to configure your modem settings to this band.
- If the signal is weak, the modem or WiFi unit may be too far from the machine; consider installing a WiFi extender.
- Turn on WiFi at the machine by unlocking it and pressing and holding the power and up arrow buttons. (See operations manual for button combinations)
- Download the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app for connectivity. QR codes are available on our website and Apps from the app store.
Heat Pump is Running All the Time
- Set the timer interval for the time of use to optimize performance. Heat pumps work best during daylight hours. (See operations manual for details)
- The machine has water constantly consumed regularly during the day, the machine is working to Re-heat the water.
- Check if the PTR drain is running constantly. If so, a pressure limiting device may not be installed. Contact your plumber to ensure it is installed or if the PTR valve needs replacing.
- The shower head, fan and condenser icons are displayed on the screen, and the fan is blowing air. The machine is not increasing water temperature. The machine may have a refrigerant leak. Action: Call service at 1300 062 788.
